The Mangrove Collection
The Mangrove Collection was a three week branding project completed in a group of three students. We were tasked with creating a cohesive collection inspired by the brand language of CB2. Each group member created one concept; mine being a wall mirror with a built in shelf and lighting element. Together, the pieces create a small but functional entry way designed to fit in an urban loft or condo space.
Sketching
After our first initial sketch blast, we landed on three forms that resonated with us, and brought them into 3D sketch models to figure out the finer details.
Form Development
With each round of development, we refined our concepts more and more until they were a sleek, cohesive collection. By removing extraneous details and adding in some clever functionality, we landed on a form family and color palette that was inspired by classic Miami Art Deco with a refined twist.
Solution
After four rounds of ideation, we landed on a final concept we were happy with, and brought them into CAD to bring them to life. Thanks to our cohesive forms, the material application was the final piece in the puzzle to really bring the collection together.
